Back to the Minor League and with no photos :-(

No - I did not make it to the Boston Marathon. Not quite ready for that race yet.

Hey - I did something today that I have not done since before I left Richmond...I went to a minor league baseball game! About 47 miles from here, in Pawtucket Rhode Island, there lives the AAA Boston Red Sox team known as Pawtucket Red Sox, or as they call them, "Paw Sox". Oo how I missed sitting on the side and watching the AAA team playing. I still can't get over what that terrible Doug Wilder has done to lose the Richmond Braves in Richmond, but that is a story for another day.

Anyway, I LOVED the day. It was wonderful. It was an afternoon game. The Sox came from behind to win at the bottom of the 10th inning. Not very crowded. It is a vacation week for the schools, so they may be on vacation, but nonetheless, I had a blast. The stadium was interesting. Built in 1942, I noticed a few differences from the Diamond in Richmond. The dugout is not level with the stands. They are at ground level. The stands are above them. In order to get autographs from the dugout, the kids AND adults have to put their ball in a bucket/milk jug/some homemade device and hang it down with a rope for it to dangle in front of the dugout (before the game of course) and the guys are pretty good about signing. The other difference was the "sky boxes" or suites, are on the same level as the dugouts.

Unfortunately, I don't have anything to show you. The person who lives with her camera in hand, to document her New England life, is not able to do so right now. The camera is not functioning and I don't know how to fix it. Oddly enough, the camera is only a year and two months old and passed the warranty mark. I have been able to fix it before, but can't see to manage it now. Linda is sad.

Anyway, I will hopefully be able to do something before June BECAUSE I am going back to the park to see the Paw Sox play....wait for it....THE RICHMOND BRAVES. I can't WAIT. Who will I cheer for? Let's just say that nostalgia is not easy to replace .

Today was a good day. I did something fun and most importantly, I did it for me. It was good to do that. Beautiful day that brought back some grand memories and a relaxing time away from reality. It was good to be able to do that. Pray that something will happen for my camera. Pray that the camera fairy fixes it or something. I like to be able to live my life through that camera, so I can share these special moments with you.
